Ecolect was recently invited to design and fabricate signage for the 2011 Business Innovation Factory Summit that took place in Providence, Rhode Island. In 2010 alone, 350 participants came from over 150 different companies to attend. 80 percent of the attendees were CEOs, presidents, founders, or senior leaders within their organizations.

The materials we used included only 1) recycled chipboard 2) Aura low-VOC paint from Benjamin Moore 3) reclaimed wood strips for the internal structure, along with 4) short finishing nails.

By employing smart design strategies and strategically selecting materials, we used as little material as possible and avoided toxic adhesives, glues, or large fasteners. Overall the project was a great success and many of the speakers were able to interact with the letters which remained on stage for the entire event. The Business Innovation Factory Summit has earned it reputation as ?one of the top 7 places to watch great minds in action? (according to Mashable.com). The summit provides participants with the space to be curious and crazy, get inspired, and collide with unusual collaborators. Speakers have included Jason Fried of 37 Signals, Marc Eco of Ecko Unltd, Bruce Nussbaum of Business Week, Robin Chase (formerly with) Zipcar, and Jeffrey Hollender of Seventh Generation, and Richard Saul Wurman, founder of the TED conferences.
